Who Am I?

Thank-You for visiting my personal e-portfolio blog! My name is Jennifer Corbett. A little about me and my interests; I love to hike and explore the outdoors. I love to rescue animals and currently have a three-legged dog named Peggy-Sue. I enjoy a nice pizza followed by a large scoop of local ice cream! Professionally, I have a varied background. In 2010 I graduated with my Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Diploma and began working in a Neurology unit. I then decided to go back to school and get my undergrad in Psychology, a huge passion of mine. From here I went to work as an LPN on a Forensics unit. This job combined my nursing experience and my love for psychology. I decided to go to grad school and got my Masters in Counselling Psychology (MACP) in January 2020. Currently, I am working on getting my Canadian Certified Counsellor certification. Five years ago I took a job as a community nurse at a nonprofit for youth. I worked as an LPN for 2 years at which point I moved into a case manager job. This was one of the most rewarding jobs I have had; I supported marginalized youth who came with a variety of complex psychosocial concerns with 80% of my work being outreach. In May of 2020 I moved into a leadership role at the nonprofit, where I am still currently working. Here I oversee a variety of health disciplines and support programming and development of low-barrier access to services. I still work casually with the Forensics program, and recently started casually at a local animal shelter.
